Board of Directors Meeting The District's original Board of Directors was appointed in 1999 by the Texas Legislature. Subsequent Boards were appointed by the City of Houston in accordance with the District's creating legislation. The Board is comprised of commercial property, home owners and business owners who set the mission and goals of the District and oversee the services and programs developed to serve our constituency.

The Board of Directors meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:53 a.m. at the District's office at 7603 Antoine in the Board Room. Meetings are open to the public.

Jerry Skweres is the President of Forged Products, Inc in Near Northwest.  He grew up in the Heights, in the shadows of the Farmer's Market on Airline, and graduated from St. Thomas High School.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M, and his MBA from the University of Houston.  

Jerry's career started with Cameron Iron Works where developed an extensive knowledge related to Project Management, Engineering Management, Sales and Sales Management.  He went on to work for Cameron in Europe and traveled all over the world.  He has worked as CEO for different oilfield equipment companies held by private equity groups; and transitioned to work for Lufkin as General manager of the North America Oilfield business.

Sonia Lopez Gimenez is the General Manager at Reina Meals. Reina Meals is a food manufacturing company located on Langfield Road. The Reina Family began the parent company in 1926, with a chocolate and nougat factory in Spain. They added bakery products, traditional Spanish Christmas sweets and dairy desserts made with traditional recipes. The company grew to be among the main suppliers for retail and foodservice distribution in Spain and Portugal. Reina Meals was founded to extend the business to the American market; it is headquartered in Houston. The District recognized the company and their investment of over $2M with a Grow Near award in 2018.

Marvalette Fentress Hunter is Principal and CEO of 3D Visions Planning Consultants, LLC, a project planning and development consulting firm started in January 2000. Ms. Hunter is an Architect and Planner with over 18 years experience in affordable housing development and finance. Ms. Hunter formerly served as Chief Development Officer for Harris County Housing Authority, providing leadership to the agency's numerous multi-family housing developments.

Heidi Sheesley has been the owner of Treesearch Farms since 1982. Ms. Sheesley is a wholesale grower of trees and plants. She is actively involved with Urban Harvest and has donated many of the trees planted along District thouroughfares. Ms. Sheesley is working with the District to enhance the liveabillity of our area though beautification of our environment and educating the community to grow and care for plants.

Jerry is a native Houstonian and Graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas before going to Law School at South Texas College of Law. Jerry has been consistently recognized as one of the best lawyers in Texas. Texas Monthly Magazine recognized Jerry as a “Super Lawyer” from 2005 to 2015, and Jerry was named to the “Top Lawyers in Texas” list in 2013. Jerry was also recognized by H Magazine as a “Top 50 Lawyers in Houston” from 2012 to 2015. Before joining Mustang CAT, Jerry’s primary focus was commercial litigation. Jerry is a National Board Member of The American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”) and Past President of the Houston Chapter of ABOTA.

Dr. Quentin Wright is the Interim Vice Chancellor of Academic Success and Special Assistant to the Chancellor at Lone Star College.  He has served as a member of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Developmental Advisory Committee, on multiple Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation teams, and participated in the national student success project Gateway to College.  

Wright is responsible for Lone Star College’s Student Success Institute, a program designed to increase college completion rates with an emphasis on African American students. He is also leading the effort to develop Lone Star College’s seventh campus.

Dan currently manages more than 350,000 square feet of retail, office, and industrial real estate, and he has closed over $60MM in real estate transactions.
