Public Safety and Security
Public Safety in NNMD
NNMD actively works with businesses and the community at large to improve security and public safety. Maintaining a safe community is one of the Near Northwest Management District’s top priorities.
Creating a safe place to live, grow, work, and play!
Lights, Camera, ACTION! Grant Program
A matching grant program to help commercial property owners upgrade exterior lighting for safety, security, and community vibrancy.
The purpose of this program is to create a structed grant program designed to provide financial reimbursement to commercial property owners for a portion of the cost associated with the implementation of CPTED principles. This initiative seeks to encourage property owners to enhance the safety and the quality of life of their customers, employees and the surrounding community. To reinforce this partnership, NNMD will provide a security camera for 3 to 6 months at no cost as a bonus incentive for investing in the program.
Security Committee
Public Safety & Security meetings are held at the White Oak Conference Center, 7603 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas 77088. We encourage commercial property owners and residents to attend Public Safety and Security Meetings where law enforcement officers, private security personnel and concerned citizens work together to address security in the area.
