Upcoming Community Engagement

The Harris County Flood Control District will be holding Virtual Community Engagement Meetings for the White Oak Bayou Federal Flood Damage Reduction Project and the Inwood Forest Stormwater Detention Basin Project: both in the White Oak Bayou watershed. The purpose of these meetings is to inform residents about the status of each project and share project information. Community engagement is an important component of the 2018 Bond Program, and we invite your participation as the program is implemented.
White Oak Bayou Federal Flood Damage Reduction Project
HCFCD Unit E100-00-00-E006, Discrete Segment 104 – Bond Project C-14
The White Oak Bayou Federal Flood Damage Reduction Project focuses on reducing the risk of damaging floods along White Oak Bayou. This project will be funded through a partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers through Section 211(f) of the Water Resources Development Act of 1996.

Inwood Forest Stormwater Detention Basin Project
HCFCD Unit E500-21-00-E002 – Bond Project C-59
The Inwood Forest Stormwater Detention Basin Project focuses on reducing the risk of flooding and mitigating impacts of future City of Houston drainage projects. This project will be funded through a FEMA grant secured by the City of Houston and a local match from bonds approved by Harris County voters on August 25, 2018.
