What is National Night Out (NNO)?

NNO is an annual community-building celebration focused on community safety and crime prevention.

The National Night Out event is an opportunity for policing entities to meet the community in an open and friendly environment.

The public begins to recognize the officers as helpful, as well as get to see and understand the equipment officers use.

National Night Out is designed to:

  • Promotes camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and better places to live.
  • It heightens crime and drug prevention awareness.
  • Strengthens neighborhood spirit and police-community relations.
  • It provides an opportunity to bring law enforcement, businesses, and neighborhoods to a fun-filled community event.

NNMD hosted National Night Out 2022 on October 4, 2022.  The White Oak Bayou Village Shopping Center lit up with music, games, and chatter. Nearly fifty participating Community Partners and the Near Northwest Management staff welcomed visitors and partied on!

All the participating Community Partners came out to present themselves and interact with our community!  They provided a fun game for the kids to keep them busy while they introduce themselves and what they do to the parents.  Our main Sponsor, Target Stores, had tons of treats and fun games!

Local Law Enforcement Agencies were very supportive of the National Night Out event.  Thank you Harris County Precinct One Constable’s Office, Harris County Sherriff’s Department, HPD, Northwest Volunteer Fire Dept, HPD Mounted Patrol, HCDAO!

We are grateful for our Co-Sponsors, Nankani Management, Harris County Precinct One Constables, Clarity Consulting, SMC Landscape Services, Rancho Verde Apartments, Los Pinos Apartments, Timber of Inwood Apartments, and Casa Grande Apartments for helping us make this year’s event safe, fun and exciting!
