NNMD held its annual Business Network Celebration and Grow Near awards on December 5, 2024! President Wayne Norden recapped successes of 2024 before presenting three Grow Near awards to recognize significant new investments in the area.
The Inwood Forest Shopping Center is a long-time retail anchor on Antoine Drive. The center includes a Foodarama grocery store, Truist Bank and UT Physicians Clinic, as well as other retail tenants.
Petereit Investments recently wrapped up an extensive renovation to the center, including new paint, lighting and parking.
Qwikkit is a recent addition to the District, consolidating operations after renovating a flooring warehouse into their office and factory. Qwikkit manufactures a line of kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors for refacing cabinetry, focusing on multifamily and other rental housing. The company has a workforce of 150+.
Villas at Mansfield, a new 32-unit “boutique” apartment complex was also recognized.
The District’s goals for 2025 include strengthening programs and initiatives to further increase safety, completing the W Tidwell Sidewalk and Park Improvements project and beginning the planning and design for a new sidewalk project along Victory, TC Jester and W Little York, a spring and fall radio marketing effort to promote the area, and an even bigger National Night Out next October.
