NNMD hosted the annual Business Network Celebration and Innovation Awards on December 4th, 2026.
The District kicked off its 25th year observance with a video retrospective featuring business leaders and NNMD Board members and unveiled a commemorative logo. President Wayne Norden summarized successes achieved in 2025, including the Board’s adoption of the 2026-2040 Service Plan. For highlights, see the video below.
The new Innovation Award was presented to recognize four projects: Amogy, Alaia Crossing, YES Prep White Oak Elementary School and Lone Star College.

AMOGY is a startup that focuses on using ammonia as a hydrogen carrier for carbon-free energy to meet industrial and transportation power needs. Amogy has established their research & development and manufacturing facility on North Houston Rosslyn Road. ALAIA CROSSING is a new gated 122 lot subdivision on 11 acres. The community has great amenities, including a club house and pool, outdoor exercise facilities and a dog park. The homes are energy-efficient, have “Smart Home” devices and are eco-friendly. YES PREP WHITE OAK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL opened in Fall 2025 and extends YES Prep Public School’ great public educational opportunities for students in our area. LONE STAR COLLEGE provides post-secondary education and skills development opportunities that are close to home and promote the economic vitality of our community by developing a skilled local workforce. Lone Star College recently added a new classroom building, adding 19,000 square feet of classrooms, lab areas and other facilities for college credit and continuing education classes. What’s new for 2026? Safety, litter abatement and graffiti abatement will continue. A sidewalk and intersection improvements project on North Houston Rosslyn will go out for bid and planning will start for a separate sidewalk improvements project on West Little York, TC Jester and Victory.
