Three candidates for the Congressional District 18 Special Election spoke at the Business Network Breakfast on September 4th. Political consultant and analyst Nancy Sims emceed the discussion.
Amanda Edwards, Isaiah Martin and Christian Menefee each introduced themselves and stated their priorities if elected to the office.
Candidates next stated how they would ensure funding and reimbursements for infrastructure projects that are currently underway in our area and to bring new funding for planned future projects. Since the District has overlapping jurisdictions and has multiple elected officials, candidates were asked how they would engage and communicate with constituents in this area. The final topic centered on the proposed redistricting and candidates’ plans under that proposal.
Finally, candidates made closing statements and took a question from the audience concerning public education funding.
